Got the talent to impress but need a little help?

Then enter our Video CV competition to win 12 months of mentoring from our team, with one goal, to get you a job! The film industry is a people’s industry full of big personalities, who have unstoppable energy and enthusiasm for their chosen career. If you find it hard to imbue your CV with your passion for the film industry, then enter the video CV competition and let your personality shine! We want to see original videos which tell us everything about you, your film dreams through an absorbing and engaging a story, all in 60 seconds!

Instructions

It’s easy to enter, all you need to do is follow the instructions below and upload a link to your Video CV.  Shortlisted CVs will be posted to our Facebook page and members of the community can vote for the winner.

What to include
  • Tell us about you! 
  • Why should employers hire you? 
  • What are your film dreams and what are you doing to make them happen? 
  • Be creative, make it fun and interesting!
What not to include
  • Your personal details, like email address or phone number 
  • No swear words, anything offensive or requiring an ‘R’ rating 
  • Copyrighted material, such as clips from a film or a song
Instructions
  • This competition is open to Pro Members of My First Job In Film only. 
  • Creating a video CV is going to take as much effort as a written one, so read the CV advice and consider how to sell your skills to employers and HoD’s. 
  • There are no rules on how you should present your skills and experience. Will you choose animation? Talking to camera? How about a scene from a film? Get creative and think how you're going to catch the judges eye.
  • The maximum length video accepted is 60 seconds.
  • All videos over 60 seconds will not be considered. 
  • Upload your video CV to either Youtube or Vimeo with no password. Login to MFJF to post your video on the competition page.
  • The competition is in two parts, an initial shortlisting will be completed by the MFJF Team. 
  • The shortlisted videos will then be posted on the MFJF Facebook page for a final public vote to determine the winner. 
  • To vote you must have a Facebook account, only one vote per person will be allowed. 
  • Deadline 11.59pm 31st October 2017
