About Kat

My name is Kat Easto; I have recently graduated from the University of York with a first class honours degree in Film and Television Production, and I am very keen to start my career in the film and television industry. I have a particular passion for production design, and have been fortunate enough to fulfil this role in several productions at university, and I am eager to further my experience and develop my knowledge within the industry. I am a confident, vivacious and outgoing person, and I am always interested in trying new things. In my free time I love to paint, draw and embroider onto clothes, and I'm constantly redecorating parts of my room - I believe that personality can be added to anything, especially in small details. A particular aspect that draws me towards the film industry is of working in a group towards a creative outcome. I believe that I work well with others, and can make a valuable contribution to a team, using my initiative whilst following instructions and keeping to deadlines. I have created a website to showcase some of my (film related and non-film related) creative work: https://kateasto.crevado.com/

Edward Braman
Programme Leader in Film & TV Production, University of York

'Kat has shown herself to be an outstanding film production professional in-the-making. Diligent, energetic, thoughtful and creative, Kat was an excellent and high-achieving student. Kat designed all the set and costume elements for a complex final-year film set in the world of ballet which demonstrated an uncanny ability to achieve significant visual impact from limited resources. At the same time, Kat confidently proved herself to handle multiple roles in both the TV studio and in single-camera location environments. I strongly recommend Kat as an emerging talent who will work hard, anticipate your needs and be a delight to have on set' - ed.braman@york.ac.uk

Nick Jones
Lecturer in Film, TV & Digital Culture, University of York

‘Kat is an extremely capable individual and a pleasure to work with. I supervised her dissertation in her third year of a Film and Television Production UG degree at York, and found her to be proactive, diligent, clear in her goals. She has a clear passion for film and also extensive knowledge of film production and film history, and she is very willing to push herself to achieve a high standard of work (her dissertation received one of the highest grades awarded that year)’ - n.jones@york.ac.uk

Kristyn Gorton
Reader in Film & Television, University of York

‘Kat was a dedicated, hard-working student who was a pleasure to supervise and work with. She came to seminars prepared and engaged. I have no hesitation in recommending her’ - kristyn.gorton@york.ac.uk
