Shereen Ali

   Production credits

About Shereen

I am an Irish/Iraqi Producer and a graduate from London’s Goldsmiths University in 2012. I started my career assisting BAFTA winning producer Sophie Venner on the film ‘Henry Cowell’, written and directed by Duncan Wellaway. As well as Producing I have also written, directed and edited a number of my own films, travelling to Palestine in 2010 I self shot and edited a short piece about what I had encountered in the refugee camps of the West Bank. After University I produced the short film ‘Chayav’ written and directed by Adam Lilley and supported by Vice UK. Then before leaving London I spent time working at both Royal and World film premieres of films such as ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘Anna Karenina’ in the UK’s biggest cinema the Odeon Leicester Square. I also spent some time logging and running in international post-production houses Clear Cut Pictures and Prime Focus, working on RAW TV's ‘Shakleton Epic’ TV Show. In 2013 I moved to Doha, Qatar to join The Film House, a commercial and corporate film production company. During my time there I produced various projects for Qatar Luxury Group, Al Jazeera, Qatar Financial Center, Pulse UK, The British Council, Qatar Foundation, Vodafone, Qatar Airways and the BBC. 'Voices' and 'The Master Craftsmen' two films I Produced at The Film House were awarded Silver Dolphin's from the 6th Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards. Other projects I produced were also recognised at the 2015 MarCom awards. I am due to graduate in February 2018 with an MA in Producing from the National Film and Television School. While pursuing my own projects I hope to further my career working alongside more established producers working in feature films and TV drama.

Yasmin Al Naib
Director, The Film House

Having worked with Shereen as a producer for the last two years, I can say I know her well, and would like to reflect highly on her character. She is an extremely driven person. Her regard for attention to detail is not to be taken lightly. She has a real determination to find the ideal talent for casting and best location, which has been a real help to me, on numerous projects, as a director. It’s been so easy to work with her, because she’s dedicated and forward thinking. She’s extremely hard working and focused. And I think she will flourish in the film environment. Having the understanding of the producer role as a whole makes it a really comfortable to work with her, even though I’m demanding, Shereen never complains. Having worked with two senior producers before her, I’ve found Shereen much easier to work with. It’s because she’s thorough and motivated. She’s passionate about delivering the best project, and determined to be helpful every step of the way. She always goes the extra mile to get things done. She has a way of understanding a directors needs, and has developed a strong creative working relationship with the directors around her, including myself. I’ve felt like I can go to her for help on countless areas of work, with creative writing, or further ideas on creative content; she’s always been there to push me further and challenge me, as well as work hard and be by my side. I can say that personally she’s got a wonderful energy about her, and she’s a brilliant and key part of the team. She’s ambitious and keen, she will thrive on what she’s already learnt and be an asset to any team.

Omar Khalifa

Employment Dates: May 2013 - December 2015 To Whom It May Concern: Shereen was an outstanding member of The Film House during her employment. As a Producer, her commitment to projects and her natural drive enabled us to execute successful and complex productions for some of the largest clients in the region. Her presence, in the office and on set, always gave us a sense of positivity and confidence that we can get things done to an exceptionally high level. Shereen was both strategically mindful and detail-orientated, which are perfect attributes for a producer managing difficult campaigns on large and small budgets.
