I am so happy about my internship and I am 100% sure I wouldn't have found it without myfirstjobinfilm.co.uk. So thank you so much for the work you do!

In my first month with them, My First Job In Film helped find me several on set production jobs. They’re enthusiastic and helpful, constantly finding new and interesting film jobs to apply for.

Thanks to My First Job in Film I got a job working as a Runner on a feature film. Off the back of that job I got to work for the BBC with one of the Producers I met on the feature. If I hadn't got that first opportunity through My First Job in Film I wouldn't be working for the BBC now.

My First Job in Film provides an unrivalled service to gain experience of and find work in what is such a competitive industry. Their hands-on approach, including a one-on-one tutorial on how to improve my CV, helped me secure a highly enjoyable and informative internship. I am still reaping the rewards of this advice and have secured two more work experience positions since. Thanks My First Job in Film!

I decided to sign up for My First Job in Film after having a subscription free account and seeing a few jobs I felt I had a chance of getting and wanted to apply for. I was unsuccessful with a few but after a month or so I heard back from a feature and also got invited for an interview for a 6 month position with a television production company working on a Roller Derby documentary series for the Extreme Sports Channel. Sam from My First Job in Film contacted me to tell me I had been shortlisted for some of the positions I'd applied for, offered me advice on my CV and also wished me luck on my upcoming interview. I subsequently got both jobs although due to complications with the business insurance on my car was unable to work on the feature (note to all potential runner drivers, ensure your car has business insurance or that your insurer will allow you obtain it for a production). I wouldn't have seen or been able to apply for either positions without being a member of My First Job In Film. Sam phoned me to see how my interview went and then emailed me to wish me luck when I discovered I had the job. This communication made the subscription fee seem worthwhile and made a website advertising jobs seem more personal and supportive. I'd recommend the site for filmmakers seeking jobs, there are opportunities I don't see elsewhere and also the subscription fee can be a worthwhile investment when you find employment.

My first job in film has helped me gain two credits on my cv as a floor runner, including the first feature I worked on Lilting. The site forges relationships with companies and manages to help new entrants to the film industry gain positions they would otherwise be unable to without contacts inside the industry. I have and would recommend this site to new entrants as the work done by the team makes it like no other film website on the Internet in the UK.

Hello the wonderful people at My First Job in Film.
I apologise this email may be quite lengthy but I would like for you to know what your website has done for me.
Early last year I left my full time job to pursue a career in a field that I hadn’t studied, didn’t have any real knowledge of but I had longed to be part of. A year out of university and I didn’t like where my future was going if I stayed on that path even though I had a relatively ‘good job’ it wasn’t for me.
I found out about My First Job in Film and decided I would try and get my hands on what experience I could whilst trying to figure out a career path. The result is I got my first film credit on a Damien Jones film which is being released this year. What started out as a job painting the set turned into the production coordinator asking me to work on the set as a runner when filming commenced for a little while where I made some great contacts and some wonderful friends who I am still in contact with months later. Plus I met Damien Jones himself!
Fast forward to January and I applied for the role of a marketing intern. I went in to interview for the position and was offered a role 2 days later. 2 days after that I went in to meet with the CEO again at which time he informed me he was in fact offering me a full time job with his company and not the internship. The bonus is he’s giving me the opportunity to create a role around my strengths on top learning a lot about film distribution.
I’d like to thank you for creating a place where people like myself who don’t necessarily have the contacts or the background, professionally or through education, the opportunity to land a job in film. I’ll be starting this week and I’m looking forward to the next chapter of the adventure that is life.
I shall be spreading the word about My First Job in Film.

The impact which the discovery of this site has had on me is really quite significant. I only began to realise quite late on in my university studies that I wanted to get into film, and for a long while struggled to find any internships which catered to my level of experience. Within a week of signing up to My First Job In Film, however, I had two offers, and I’ve been working since then. Best of all, my time with Amber, courtesy of My First Job In Film, has helped to confirm that this line of work is absolutely right for me. Many thanks!

MFJIF is THE student/graduate film jobs site. It's super competitive only because its jobs are so lucrative. If you want to work in a real production company, not just some dingy basement studio you found off Gumtree, then go to MFJIF.

My first job in film is a great resource for those who are looking to begin a career in the Film industry. Despite the fee, the listings are excellent- wideranging, and often can't be found on any other job sites without doing a lot of searching around yourself.

"Before joining My First Job in Film, I'd spent weeks sending speculative applications to companies with no luck. Within 2 weeks of signing up, I'd secured a 3 week placement at a company, which has now turned into a more permanent role. It's a great website, it's simple and easy to use, whilst giving people a better chance to kick start their careers in the film and TV industry. Well worth the tenner a month!"

It's the most positive recruitment site I've come across since being unemployed, and the only site that's got me a dream internship that I otherwise would have thought impossible. "My First Job in Film has been invaluable in making the work experience process manageable and fair for both the company and the candidate - they lay out the guidelines, advise both parties and allow us to get someone who can contribute appropriately and yet feel like they have really gained something from their time with us, which is what the entire process is geared for - I would recommend them to anyone who was looking to make a start in this area."
